“And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.”

— Anaïs Nin

After studying communications, graphic design and art, my first few jobs were in destination marketing. That led to starting a graphic design business, which led to an executive position with Patachou Inc., an award-winning female-led restaurant group. With Patachou Inc., I have created compelling restaurant brand identities and developed comprehensive public communications strategies. As Patachou Inc. has grown from three locations to fourteen, we have accrued the following national accolades: "Nineteen Great Companies to Work for" — Food and Wine, "Top 25 Concepts" — Restaurant Hospitality and "Empire Builder of the Year" —Eater

Binette Flora and Fauna developed out of my desire to work with my hands in the natural world, offline, creating beauty out of a fleeting medium — flowers. I grew up in my own outdoor fantasy land, constructing Hobbit-holes out of vines and branches, laying belly down in a forested carpet of violets and spring beauties. The outdoors gave way to many years behind the scenes in theatre design, creating temporary environments of fantasy and excitement. A career in graphic design and marketing taught me how to run a business of creativity. Binette brings my experiences so far full circle.

So through my work I seek to express the beauty of a beautiful, ephemeral time and space — either through wild foraged flora or the pixels of a computer program. Send me a note - I'd love to hear from you.

Bonne journée!
